A Sign that Retrogression May Be Ending

When will it end?

A Sign that Retrogression May Be Ending

Postby HealthStaff on Sat Jan 05, 2008 1:28 pm

Would US employers continue to travel to the Philippines, UK and elsewhere if the were not confident that retrogression would be ending sooner rather than later?

I have recently learned of three different hospitals sending their nursing and human resources directors and immigration attorneys to the UK in February, March and April to interview applicants for direct placement positions in I believe North Carolina, Oklahoma and Connecticut.

I am still getting more info on this. Send me a note at rhoppe@healthstaff.org and I will happily share other related info that I am able to get.

Happy New Year to all!

The following US hopsitals will be conducting interviews in London England:

February 18-20 Hillcrest Hospital, Oklahoma
March 17-19 UNCH, North Carolina

We are working with each of these facilities to assist them in their efforts. For complete details on any of these employers just send me a note to rhoppe@healthstaff.org and I will respond.

Hi Titty Dominic,

As of now, there are no signs of retrogression being lifted any time soon. The July 2008 Visa bulletin shows that the EB3 Visa is currently unavailable for all countries. Any possible change can be expected in the new fiscal year starting October 2008. You may find the following link more informative.

The bills that you mentioned were rejected by the senate. However some leading law firms are endeavoring to reach a viable solution with the Wexler’s Bill. This legislation, which is also called as The Emergency Nurse Supply Relief Act, seems to need additional co-sponsors in the House of Representatives and it seems to be gaining support.
Therefore, this may seem like the silver lining and hopefully a temporary solution may also be on the horizon.

This link provides up to date information on the progress of this bill and other related issues as they happens.

Right now it is best to wait and hope for the best.
