Any Question?

One of our Sponsoring Recruiters has offered to donate his time to answer any questions that international nurses may have!

Hi Everyone

Postby Nurse Recruiter DKS on Thu Oct 25, 2007 1:53 pm

I just returned from a two week recruiting trip to Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. I have been out of internet touch for a while.

Let's talk about what I can do to help and what I can't.

Some of you are asking questions best addressed to an attorney. I do not practice immigration law and my responses would be unreliable. An example of a question that would be best answeres by an attorney is that of Garnet:
" to whoever who can help me,

i am confused!

i am in the US now on tourist visa and i learned that i cannot work until i have atleast the work permit. My question is. if my agency files my I-140 while im still here then i decided to go back to the Philippines before the petition is approved, can I still go back here on a tourist visa by next year if the non-immigrant visa becomes available then have a adjustment of status?

furthermore, if my I-140 is filed now then i went back to the Philippines and got married. Can i still include my husband in my petition (i-140) so he can have his green card at the same time that i will receive my green card? what should i do or file as soon as we got married for him to accompany me in the US immediately? "

This is a complex set of questions requiring specific knowledge of your situation and legal status. Internet advice, from me or anyone else is unreliable.

An example of a question which you can get help on is the following from US Dreamer:

[b]"hi.. i already passed nclex-rn california..would it be possible for me to endorse and get my license @ another statelike virginia or texas?? if yes.. can someone please enlighten me on how to do it??? will be waiting for replies... thanks... "[b]

BTW-The answer to this is that every state has slightly different endorsement requirements and those requirements change frequently. Look up the current requirements on the web site for the state board of nursing which is applicable. In general, it is not a complex process.

As a recruiter, I can help on many types of questions, but some will be beyond my area of expertise. I have found that there are many rumors about and many nurse candidates who feel that they are experts. Take such rumors and advice with caution.

Hi. I am currently a RN student in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I am considering finishing my ADN here within the next year, finding a job in Las Vegas, Nevada and taking the RN to BSN degree completion program through UNLV part time. I will be getting married to my fiance from Nevada next summer. Considering my circumstances what would you recommend I do and how would I go about doing it? What is the process for obtaining a green card if i am married to a Nevada citizen before applying to work in Nevada. Also, could you tell me if it would be possible to take a NCLEX-RN exam in Canada for licensure in Nevada??
Thank you!!

It's possible to take NCLEX without a contract?

Postby joanaraquel on Tue Nov 06, 2007 11:43 pm

It's possible to take NCLEX without a contract? Because the pearsonvue said to me that I need a social secure number to do NCLEX and to have that number I would have to do a contract!
Thanks,
Ju

nclex

Postby Luisette on Wed Nov 07, 2007 2:08 pm

I'm quite sure that you can do the nclex without the security number. I did it and I don't have a security number. You should send your credentials to the CGFNS. And pay them to screen them and send a credential report to the board of nursing of your choise. When the board of nursing recieves this they makes you eligible to sit for the exam. ( but first you need to the Medical Errors internet examination and send the copy of passing to the board of your choise.) Than your paperworks go's to Pearson and vue and they will grand you seat to pass the examination.
So you really don't need a contract or anything else.
Hope you find your way.

Re: nurse recruiter who spent?

Postby marloncussi on Wed Jan 16, 2008 9:36 pm

Lucky you if you he will not require you to pay since its a 2 years contract. Be very careful to any job offer you need to ask for the actual contract and look for any payments to be advance before or after filing your I-140. In the I-140 petition, you are required to sign in the ETA9089 as Alien Declaration before they will process your I-140 to USCIS. If they processed your I-140 you should ask for a copy of your I-140 receipt notice with your case number. I am international nurses recuiter of nursing registry petitioner/compnay based in LA, California but our contract is 3 years. Thanks.

My nurse recruiter is from Bakersfield, I got interviewed by the employer last July and got the job. The recruiter sent the job offer w/c included the salary, sign on bonus or immigration package and a relocation bonus which will be on promissory note unless i finish the 2 year contract...
He emailed me and said he is on the process of filing of I-140 with the immigration lawyer and paid 3,500 dollars this October. Is this the amount of the immigration right now? Is the job offer letter already a binding contract in my case? Does this nurse recruiter trust us that much? Can you give me an example of a good contract?
thanks and more power...

hello everyone, I just graduated last April 2007 and passed our local (Philippines) Nursing Board Exams last June also the same year. However, I still haven't had taken my NCLEX exams, nor Ielts/Tofel, still don't have any hospital experience and I'm currently attending trainings wich are U.S. based (i.e. phlebotomy, advance and intermid I.V., gerontology, Hemodialysis, ACLS, Telemetry, Respiratory and more) .. I was just wondering, what is the best or fastest and also the safest way for me to work abroad? either in US or Canada? I really want to start helping my family, as how they supported me. Pls, help give me enlightenment in regards with my situation.. thank you very much! God bless us Nurses. :D

Good day all,

I am writing this on behalf of my mother, who is a licensed foreign nurse from Mongolia visiting me in North Dakota during my summer holiday. She has a work experience of over 12 years as a nurse (falls under General Nurse occupation) in Mongolia. While she is visiting me here, she wants to explore any avenue that would give her opportunity to work in the US as a nurse. As upon doing researches about "foreign nurse in the US", she faced some difficulties.
The primary thing was proof English proficiency.
The secondary thing was one of the American nursing tests.
Therefore, I started doing research to find out if there is a way for my mother to find a sponsor that can help her with English language and the test, and hire her as an employee. Or it does not have to be a sponsor. It can be any schools or organizations that provide english language course for foreign nurses and also prepare for them to take the nursing exams.
Thank you all and have a great day, I will be looking forward to your earliest reply.

Sincerely,

Otgoo.A

Help...

Postby Precious on Wed Nov 18, 2009 6:31 am

Hi! I am a Filipino RN with 1 year ICU experience but I haven't taken the NCLEX yet. Is there anyone who can help me land a job in the US (preferrably in Nevada)? What am I required to do aside from passing the NCLEX (which I intend to take next year)? Thank you.
