I just returned from a two week recruiting trip to Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. I have been out of internet touch for a while.
Let's talk about what I can do to help and what I can't.
Some of you are asking questions best addressed to an attorney. I do not practice immigration law and my responses would be unreliable. An example of a question that would be best answeres by an attorney is that of Garnet:
" to whoever who can help me,
i am confused!
i am in the US now on tourist visa and i learned that i cannot work until i have atleast the work permit. My question is. if my agency files my I-140 while im still here then i decided to go back to the Philippines before the petition is approved, can I still go back here on a tourist visa by next year if the non-immigrant visa becomes available then have a adjustment of status?
furthermore, if my I-140 is filed now then i went back to the Philippines and got married. Can i still include my husband in my petition (i-140) so he can have his green card at the same time that i will receive my green card? what should i do or file as soon as we got married for him to accompany me in the US immediately? "
This is a complex set of questions requiring specific knowledge of your situation and legal status. Internet advice, from me or anyone else is unreliable.
An example of a question which you can get help on is the following from US Dreamer:
[b]"hi.. i already passed nclex-rn california..would it be possible for me to endorse and get my license @ another statelike virginia or texas?? if yes.. can someone please enlighten me on how to do it??? will be waiting for replies... thanks... "[b]
BTW-The answer to this is that every state has slightly different endorsement requirements and those requirements change frequently. Look up the current requirements on the web site for the state board of nursing which is applicable. In general, it is not a complex process.
As a recruiter, I can help on many types of questions, but some will be beyond my area of expertise. I have found that there are many rumors about and many nurse candidates who feel that they are experts. Take such rumors and advice with caution.
