Foreign RN stuck on f-1 Visa

When will it end?

Foreign RN stuck on f-1 Visa

Postby Saady on Sat Jan 19, 2008 3:53 pm

Hi, I am a foreign educated Nurse, I came to US in 1999 from Pakistan as a B2 but later changed it too F-1, I was told that I needed to study further before appearing for NCLEX-RN exam, Well I did that, and took the NCLEX-RN from California in 2006, passed it, and got 4 job offers, but as soon as they found out they had to sponsor me first, they backed down their job offer and I got stuck as an F-1 student, My Pakistani husband divorced me as I was not bringing in income.

I am quite worried as how can I start working, to pay off my debt to my parents, brothers etc. I have a visa screen from CGFNS, 6 months of orientation that I completed with a hospital in Georgia to get the Georgia license thru endorcement. "HCCA International" contacted me that they could try to help me, but I dont see a light at the end of the tunnel. What is the I-140 form? I don't know what a retrogression is? I cannot afford a lawyer or a consultant? Already I am in severe economic hardship as an F-1 student~ cannot pay my fees. And I am looking for someone to Help me out. I am not interested in green card yet I just want to work. HELP!!!!
:-(

Hi Saady
I am an F1 student too. I have a license from NY and looking for a sponsorship. BTW, I need to pass IELTS and get a visa screen.
It's really hard to get a job because of the retrogression! Try to hang on, although it's so expensive living in the US. :(

First of all, i just want to say that "keep hanging in there!" i am in similar situation, i am here with a sister and i will have to pay for our expenses after graduation. i am graduating this may and i cannot find a hospital in NY that sponsors. I don't know what to do, i heard a lot of bad things about agency. how is your experience with HCCA?
