H1B visa

Postby rashaoweis on Sat May 24, 2008 7:50 pm

Hello everyone. My name is Rasha and I am new to this website. Here is the topic that I suggest we start discussing.

I will graduate with a BSN from a university here in the US in August. With all the immigration issues, obtaining a work visa is very difficult.

I met with a lwayer who suggested obtaining a cap exempt H1B visa. This visa can be obtained anytime during the year so that you don't have to worry about meeting any deadlines.

However, the down side is that your emplyer has to meet specific criterion to be cap exempt. please refer to the link for more info

Your job should require a BSN anyway for this to work (given that your employer is a non profit teaching hospital or affiliated), and that is not true for most positions. Positions that require BSN also require experience, which I don't have as a new grad.

My question is: is it true that there are 3 states that require BSN for employment? if so, which states are these? I can't find the information anywhere.

If any of you have a similar story to share, please let me know of any hospital in the state that requires BSN as a minmum degree for employment.

Thanks
rashaoweis
