Working with an experienced nurse recruiter is the best way to emigrate to the US...but how do you choose the right one? If you are looking for one, perhaps visitors to this Forum can be of help!

The legitimate nurse recruiters will handle everything - including helping with the visa. The nurse recruiters should never ask for any money in advance.
It is not uncommon, though, for nurse recruiters to seek reimbursement for out of pocket expenses - such as fees for exams, transportation to the US or exam locations (if there are none local), etc. However, such costs should not be repaid until after you are working and receiving a salary.
Whatever expenses a recruiter may seek for reimbursement should be addressed when you contract with them, and be put in writing.

That's true, a good nurse recruiter should not ask you for any fees in advance, however you might need to sign an agreement to work with that agency for a period of time. I can recommend World Health Resources, their website is www.whrgroup.com

hi there!!!
I just want to ask if you heard of this staffing agency based in New York, (Medical Dynamic Systems, Inc) I signed with them last year together with my 3 other friends and we were a little bit discouraged the way they handle their nurses. They wont reply our emails promptly espcially those things that are unclear to us.. We're the one calling them most of the times concerning our dues and urging them always to pay the same like our CES, application to NJBON and to Pearsonvue.
We passed the nclex-rn exam under New Jersey BON. Just the other night, we received an email from them that they have already filed our I-140.. My question is, do we have still an option to look for another agency? what would be our legal liabilities because we are willing to pay what is really due for them.
By the way, our contract says that our employment with them will begin on the date we render actual services to the company.....

This is the first I've heard of Medical Dynamic Systems. That's not to say anything bad. There are a lot of recruiters that are just starting up due to the nurse shortage here in the US. Many are well funded, and well connected.
From your message, it does appear that this agency is fulfilling their obligations to you. Since they have filed the I-140, it appears that things are moving forward. Because of the visa retrogression, there is little that they can do.
I know of some agencies that have been sending out monthly newsletters that simply say "nothing new, just sit tight." I know its a long and stressful process, and the waiting is frustrating, but remember, you are not alone! There are thousands of others waiting too.

i dont think they are well funded because the nurses ahead of us who are also with this agency speak for itself. Their petition was denied last year due to non-compliance of the RFE sent by the USCIS.. One of the evidence needed was the company need to supply more evidence because of financial stability... Another thing is that the contract was not clear and only my signature appeared on said contract and on their party it is unsigned....
I really wanted to know if what are my liabilities legally if i have to withdraw my application to them? I am willing to pay them all the expenses they paid for me like CES, NJBON, and pearson vue fees...
Please advise what to do regarding this matter... Thanks.. _________________ patience is virtue

HI There! First of all thank you for this site where nurses from many countries could share thier experience and useful information!
One of the nurse recruiting company that i am thinking about working with claim that they will pay for all procedures and exams till the time i get a job in a hospital in the USA. May be somebody know -in what way do the clients of nurse recruiting companies usually pay for their service, how much, will it be conditioned in the contract with employer?
Another question: do the foreign nurses really have the same level of salary and range of benefits (health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, retirement plan, paid time off etc) as those who live in the USA?
I will appreciate your answers.

There are many nurse recruitment companies that extend their services beyond paying for all procedures and exams in addition to obtaining employment in the US. The recruitment company has an established agreement with hospital(s) and will usually be compensated for the services they provide by the respective hospital(s) directly. In this way, all services rendered are not at the expense of the nurse.
